SODALYME is Carbon Dioxide Absorber used on
the expiration area of the anesthetic closed rebreathing
systems, when the expiration gas passes the canister filled
with its granules, they react with small heat generation.
This SODALYME offers a minimal resistance to breathing.
Directions:
For the most efficient removal of carbon dioxide from the
rebreathing systems, fill the canister 1/3 full and gently
rap the sides of the canister to settle the absorbent. Then
fill the remaining 2/3 full with tapping again until it is
full. When exhausted, SODALYME changes to purple.
Cautions & Warning:
Only use with Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Ether, Halothane,
Ethylene, Cyclopropane, Enflurane, Methoxyflurane and Forane. Do not use with Chloroform, Trichloroethylene.
